Kyle, Yacht Charter AssistantThe Dufour 430 Grand Large, which first came off the production line in 2018, combines elegant lines and good sailing capability with a practical use of space.
With a large forward cabin and saloon area, the interior is generously sized and the big hull windows let a good amount of natural light into the forward and aft double cabins.
On the version of the yacht with four cabins, you get three standard double cabins and a double bunk bed cabin. The L-shaped galley is equipped with a decent sized oven and fridge.
Outdoor meals are made easy on the Adventure version of the 430 with the mini-galley on the transom: complete with bbq and sink. In terms of sailing features, the Dufour 430 comes with a self tacking jib as standard and its low gooseneck offers easy handling of the mainsail.
The balance between interior and deck space is just right on this yacht. With plenty of galley stowage, a navigation table, a full width opening transom and bathing platform; it is ideal for a two week bareboat charter.

Jeanneau’s Sun Odyssey 440 is a deceptively spacious cruiser. It has two adjacent forward and two aft double cabins on the four cabin version, and one double forward cabin (with walkaround bed) plus two double aft cabins on the three cabin version.
In the saloon a U-shaped galley on the port side – opposite the sitting area – creates an open, airy feel. Aft of the galley is a navigation table and seat.
Jeanneau has clearly put thought into making some clever adaptations to the cockpit to make it safer and easier to move around the boat. There is walk-in access to the side decks, which means there is no need to climb over the seats to venture forward.
Available on some models is a welcome addition for charter – the cockpit seats which convert into sunbeds for relaxing at anchor.
Winner of the 2018 « European Yacht of the Year – Family Cruiser », the Sun Odyssey 44 is well equipped for a good sailing experience with its twin rudders and generous rigging.0
