Guadeloupe is essentially made up of two islands, Grande-Terre the eastern, renowned for white sandy beaches, and Basse-Terre the western Island, home to stunning waterfalls, mountainous rainforest and world-class diving. Guadeloupe is also famed for its amazing Creole cuisine.

July to October prevailing wind northeast 10 to 20 knots force 3 to 5.
November to June prevailing wind northeast 15 to 25 knots force 4 to 6.
Temperatures in Guadeloupe remain around 30°C all year with short tropical rain showers. Good for people with some sailing experience depending on your route.
Only travellers from Montreal and Paris are able to fly directly to the island. Travellers from all other destinations are required to take a connecting flight from a neighbouring Caribbean island, or route via Paris or Montreal.

DAY 1 : Embark at Marina Bas du Fort in Pointe-a-Pitre
DAY 2 : Enjoy a short sail across to Ilet a Gosier (3 miles), a tiny wooded island surrounded by reefs and white sandy beaches.
DAY 3 : Marie-Galante (19 miles). the anchorages are all along the west coast, the nicest being Saint Louis. Ashore you’ find an authentic Caribbean life style, white sandy beaches and lagoons protected by coral reefs. Visit the Grande Anse refinery and taste the world’s best rum.
DAY 4 : Portsmouth, Dominica (25 miles). Discover this magical, unspoilt island. Tour the Indian River.
DAY 5 : Sail to Les Saintes (18 miles). Terre de Haut lies in a beautiful bay. Explore the island and visit Fort Napoleon.
DAY 6 : Choose one of the many anchorages on Basse Terre: Anse à la Barque, Rivière Sens, Trois Rivières, Goyave… or visit the Cousteau Marine Park.
DAY 7 : Return to Marina Bas du Fort in Pointe-a-Pitre.
