Search for 
Saturday-Saturday charters. Most fleets are fixed to Saturday turnarounds in the Mediterranean, especially in high season, which in turn means the best availability and prices.
Sail in the last week of August. For most Mediterranean charter companies their prices drop to a lower price band for the last week in August, so as long as you have not made Bank Holiday plans it can help trim the price down.
Start with the flights. The cost of flights are likely to be a more deciding factor than the price of the yacht for the overall cost of your holiday. So if you are flexible on where to sail, spending some time on a flight comparison website such as www.skyscanner.net is a great place to start.
Consider sailing in destination which are in their low or mid season weather patterns. There are some discounts in the Caribbean and Thailand during the summer, temperatures still high, and flights might not be that much more than heading to the Mediterranean
