Let us inspire you – where we’ll be headed in 2019
Our LateSail team members share their destination desires for next year
2nd Jan 2019
2018 has been a busy year for us here at LateSail and as we enter 2019, we’re excited to plan what we hope will be another successful one. One of the reasons that our team are able to help our customers plan the perfect sailing holiday is their hands on knowledge and experience in chartering and of the destinations that we have on offer.
With that in mind, each member of the team is already busy planning their next sailing adventure and in true LateSail style, we thought we’d share our choices with you, in the hope of whetting your appetite and helping you make some decisions about where you’d like to set sail next.
Sebastian - LateSail General Manager
“My love of sailing, sun, sea and beaches makes my decision for where to sail in 2019 an easy one – the Seychelles. The hundreds of tiny atolls coupled with clear turquoise waters which are perfect for diving and snorkelling make for an excellent sailing adventure.”
Russell - LateSail Sales Manager
“As a fan of antiquity, great food and having a young family I will be looking at the easy winds of the Greek Ionian, Corfu is definitely voguing this year and it would be great to revisit after 20 years since my last trip as a rambunctious teenager…I might give the dance floors of Kavos a miss this time!”
Nic - LateSail Sales Specialist UK & South Africa
“Myself and my wife will be holidaying on a by the cabin charter in the Tahiti in 2019, somewhere we’ve always wanted to sail. The glistening lagoons look so welcoming and are perfect for snorkelling. The best thing about a charter to Tahiti is the number of different islands and wind streams you can experience. Sailing the Windward Islands of Tahiti and Moorea alongside the Leeward Islands of Bora Bora, Raiatea and Taha’a is the perfect way to discover the best of the French polynesia.”

“Top of my list for 2019 is Croatia. Having been in the industry for more than 25 years I cannot believe I still have not been there…..
All along the coast of Croatia there are picturesque harbours and bays with an abundance of history to discover. There are lots of islands with stunning scenery and quaint towns. I also like the fact that the towns come alive at night, with sophisticated waterside restaurants and chic cocktail bars, giving it a very cosmopolitan feel. On the sailing side, Croatia offers line of sight navigation with short island hops, ideal if you like to combine sailing with going ashore to sight see and embrace the local culture.”

“My 2019 bucket list destination is Grenada. My goal next year is to learn to scuba dive and Grenada is littered with dive sites and wrecks to choose from. But I specifically want to dive the underwater sculpture park. It looks amazing! In addition to this, the ease of access to the more remote Grenadines and the exciting sailing conditions make it a top spot on my travel “To-Do” list.”
Kyle - LateSail Aftersales Executive
“On my list is Thailand, for sure. Beautiful weather, stunning waters, incredible diving grounds, and full to the brim with culture. More specifically I’d want to explore Phang Nga Bay and witness the crazy rock formations. I’d want to take a visit to Koh Panyi too, and look around the floating fishing village. They’ve even got a floating football pitch there…”
Aimee - LateSail Marketing Manager
“It’s all about the BVIs for me! The beautiful white sandy beaches, calm trade winds and gorgeous sunshine mean I can attempt to top up my non-existent tan alongside a bit of snorkelling in a great party atmosphere. I’ve always wanted to visit the famous Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke Island where you have to swim from your yacht to get a drink and having tried a few of the bar’s signature cocktail, the ‘Painkiller’ at the Southampton Boat Show, I can happily say it’ll be well worth the effort!”
Anna - LateSail Creative Marketing Executive
” Montenegro is definitely on my list for the near future. Not many people know that they can easily get from Dubrovnik to Kotor and sail through the most incredible landscapes in the Mediterranean. I like it when I have a number of choices in whatever I do in life and Montenegro offers just that – uniquely green crystal clear waters, mountains, well-preserved old towns and diverse culture.”
