On a yacht charter we like to treat ourselves to some of the local cuisine, in a restaurant or taverna overlooking the sea accompanied by a bottle of local beer or wine.
We’ve tracked down some of the most desirable places to eat in the most yacht charter friendly locations in Greece, Croatia, Italy, Spain and France.
A personal favourite of the LateSail team, Greek food is known for being healthy and makes the most of fresh local ingredients including olive oil, fish, citrus fruits and vegetables.

This famous Barceloneta brunch spot is right next to Port Vell and serves inventive and colourful brunch dishes including salmon bagels, exotic fruit, eggs and avocado on toast galore.
On the west coast of Mallorca in Port de Sóller is Neni, which is a laid back place open in the evenings with relaxing seating and dishes including salads, pizzas and meat and cheese boards.
Cheese, wine, cream, meat, fish. Need we say more? These rich ingredients are all staples of traditional French cuisine. In the sun-kissed South of France, the produce is full of flavour and meals focus around fish and olive oil.
Not far from the Îles d’Hyères on the Giens Peninsula, find classic French Bouillabaisse and seafood fare here where the fish is caught fresh daily nearby.
In the 1950s this pâtisserie invented the classic tarte tropézienne, a dessert pastry consisting of a filled brioche. Apparently the pastry was named by actress Brigitte Bardot while she was there filming. We suggest taking a big slice back to your boat!
Classic Turkish cuisine including meze with a twist such as beetroot hummus. The restaurant lies inland slightly at Kayakoy, in between Oludeniz and Fethiye on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast.
One for the kids and grown up fans of bubble waffles filled with ice cream, and bubble teas. It’s just around the corner from Marmaris marina, when you fancy an afternoon treat after a day on your yacht.
