Vancouver is a coastal haven of majestic fjords, towering 7000ft. peaks, cascading waterfalls and pristine lakes that provides countless well protected anchorages scattered throughout the spectacular cruising grounds. The almost complete absence of development results in an exciting ‘wilderness’ feeling. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen; in the early part of the year, great grey whales can be seen in the strait, and onshore you may spot bald eagles, deer, or mountain goats. Plus you can swim in one of the many warm fresh water mountain lakes. With such a variety of islands to visit, secret coves, and lively ports of call, you are bound to have an unforgettable vacation.
Winds tend to blow from the east averaging 15-25 knots. Navigation can be difficult due to numerous reefs. Best time to visit is between November and June.
To reach the marina in Vancouver, take the Canada Line sky train to downtown Vancouver to Waterfront Station and the Seabus Terminal at the foot of Main Street. The Seabus is the public transport from the downtown city core to North Vancouver. Take the Seabus to the Lonsdale Quay in N. Vancouver.
