The east coast of Majorca experiences north-westerlies averaging force 3-4 and the west coast south-easterlies force 2-3. The strong Mistral winds blow in August in a north-westerly direction and can last for up to 3 days.
Arrival :
Mallorca's international airport, Son Sant Juan Airport, is about 8 km from the capital Palma. The island is such a popular destination that most international airlines fly direct. If you want to go via the mainland the cheapest flights tend to go from Barcelona and Valencia. Alternatively you may choose to take a ferry to Mallorca, these run from Barcelona and Valencia.

From Palma venture along the east coast and explore sheltered bays and white sandy beaches; sail the rugged western shore and overnight in the lovely fishing harbor of Puerto Soller; or spend the night at anchor in the beautiful Cabrera Island Nature Reserve. If you are chartering for 2 weeks, why not visit the beautiful and lively islands of Ibiza and Formentera, 45 miles to the south, or the lovely island of Menorca with its secluded anchorages, just 27 miles to the north-east.
