Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 (2024) 'Minx' - Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349

Tortola, British Virgin Islands (BVI), Caribbean
Designed by Marc Lombard, the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 is the perfect combination of performance, comfort and safety at sea. She is a comfortable cruiser, perfect for couples and young families. A roller mainsail and jib enable you to set full sail in under a minute and with a full suite of Raymarine electronics, including a chart plotter and autopilot, “Minx’ is an easy, fun and really rewarding yacht to cruise the BVI. With good cockpit coverage by the bimini, and a nice drop-down transom/ swim platform with an integrated swim ladder for easy access to the dinghy ( or the 83-degree water) ……the Jeanneau 349 is a great boat to be aboard under sail or at anchor. The Sun Odyssey hull has a hard chine that runs from well before the mid-ships all the way aft adding stability underway. She has a reverse deck sheer adding to the sleek look but importantly increasing interior volume. The shoal draft keel draws 4ft 10in. The twin rudders give fabulous tracking and ‘feedback’, making her a real joy to helm. The twin wheel configuration and no backstay give a clear walkthrough to the companionway through the spacious cockpit. The wide swim platform offers easy boarding and the extra outside living space this platform adds at anchor is impressive. Sprayhood and bimini with LED lighting are included and there is an electric windlass at the bow. The Selden fractional rig carries an in-mast furling main and 110% genoa giving almost 600 square feet of sail area. The Yanmar 21HP delivers over 6 knots at 2,900 rpm and she is responsive and easy to handle under power. The 3 cabins and 1 head layout have a forward V-berth master cabin and two double berth aft cabins. The double door to the master cabin, when open, expands the overall feeling of space below. Each cabin has shelves around the bed for storage and a closet with hanging space. The head doubles up as a wet room with a built-in shower. There is an impressive 6ft 3in of headroom in the saloon and it includes a folding table with plenty of seating. There is a dedicated aft-facing Navigation station that uses the saloon settee as a seat. There is an L-shaped galley to starboard that is compact and functional with a single sink near the centerline, a two-burner stove and top-loading refrigeration. There is cleverly designed storage behind the saloon seats and in easy-access lockers around the saloon.
